January Reading Wrap Up

The month of January is over so it is time to discuss the books I read. I had a pretty good reading month. Especially compared to what I read in 2021. I ended up reading only two of the books I added to my TBR. I figured I wouldn\’t read all of them and when I decided to read The Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy the last weekend of January, the other books would just have to wait.

Here are the books I read in the month of January:

Kingdom of Souls by Rena Barron – the first book I read in the month of January. I enjoyed this read. I ended up purchasing the second book in the trilogy during the middle of reading this one. The story is about a girl who doesn\’t have magic of her own, but when a child snatcher takes one of her friends, she decides to trade her years for magic.

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas – this might be my favorite Sarah J. Maas book. Definitely my favorite in the Throne of Glass series so far. I\’m excited to continue. I really enjoyed the characters and their journey in this book. I was tempted to start Queen of Shadows right after, but I stopped myself. I decided I was going to marathon another series. Which brings me to…

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson – this was a re-read. I read this either in 2020 or 2021. I liked it better the second time around. I had redone my shelves and was looking to see what I should un-haul. I wanted to give this another shot first. Glad I did since I enjoyed it even more.

The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson – after finishing the first in the series, I decided to continue my marathon. This was an enjoyable read as well. I really do like the characters in this story and am currently reading the third book in the trilogy. Hoping to finish it in the next day or so. It will be the first book I finish in the month of February.
